Susannah Conway is hosting a Photo Challenge this April about - you guessed it - LOVE. Infuse a little more love in your life... on Instagram and Twitter (search the hashtag #aprilove2015).
Yellow is a bright, sunny, positive, and powerful color. It is the shimmer of the sun radiating out of my heart. It is also the title of one of Coldplay's first hit songs with lyrics like this:
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
Imagine that? The whole universe shining for me.
"At the center of the Universe dwells the Great Spirit. And that center is really everywhere. It is within each of us." Black Elk, holy man of the Lakota Sioux
Yellow makes me think of internal fire, metabolism, and balance within my center as it correlates to my third chakra. Meditating on the color yellow prompts me to visualize stars shining right out of my center, and this meditation makes me feel more connected to everything and everyone around me.
And that internal fire, of course, makes me think of delicious, nourishing food.
You know what is also yellow? Liliko'i (passionfruit) shave ice with macadamia nut ice cream at the bottom. I just gave away the source of my power: sugary, delicious, sticky, melty, standing-in-the-hot-shimmering-sun-in-Kaua'i shave ice. (And you thought it was green juice and chia seed pudding, didn't you?)
